Job Summary

As a Regional Matron at Independent Health Group, you will be the senior clinical leader over multiple surgical sites, holding overall responsibility for operational and tactical oversight, team leadership, and the safe, effective delivery of patient care. You will ensure a consistently high-performing clinical environment that reflects our CQC Outstanding rating, maintaining rigorous safety, quality, and governance standards.
The role will be Monday to Friday, and in addition to a competitive salary, Independent Health Group also offers a generous pension contribution of 6% of your earnings. We offer 25 days annual leave, a day off for your birthday (if it falls on one of your working days), bank holidays, plus the option to buy up to a further 2 weeks of annual leave.

Main duties of the job

Job responsibilities
* Provide visible, inclusive, and compassionate leadership, supporting nursing and allied health professionals to deliver high-quality patient care.
* Role model professional standards, ensuring adherence to the Nursing and Midwifery Council (NMC) Code and other regulatory guidelines.
* Foster a culture of learning, respect, and shared governance, engaging frontline teams in decision-making and service improvements.
* Act as the senior point of accountability for clinical services, ensuring all care aligns with organisational policies and national standards.
* Engage with patients and their families to address concerns proactively, ensuring a positive experience.
* Provide clinical governance leadership, working in collaboration with the Corporate Quality & Governance Team to ensure robust oversight of patient safety.
* Drive continuous quality improvement by empowering teams to identify and implement enhancements in care delivery.
* Support workforce planning and skill mix reviews to ensure safe staffing levels across services.
* Foster a patient-centred approach ensuring patients' preferences and needs are at the core of care delivery.
* Ensure operational performance aligns with key performance indicators (KPIs) related to patient safety, clinical outcomes, and patient experience.
Qualifications Essential
* Registered Nurse (NMC) or ODP (HCPC)
* Degree in relevant field or equivalent
* Masters degree or equivalent experience in healthcare leadership/management
* Training in clinical governance and risk
Desirable
* Completion of leadership programme.
* Immediate Life Support (ILS) certification
* Quality improvement or patient safety accreditation
Experience Essential
* Significant experience in senior nursing/AHP leadership roles.
* Proven track record in implementing quality improvements and service development.
* Experience in staff development.
