Job Description
Purpose of Job: Undertake a range of projects/areas of work to support the optimisation of the Council's estate.
This will include:
1. Contribute to the development of the Strategic Asset Strategy and plan
2. Contribute to the improvement of the efficiency and utilisation of the Council’s Operational Estate
3. Developing viable space solutions to support business cases
Major Tasks/Job Activities
1. Undertake a range of projects/areas of work ensuring outcomes are delivered on time and to a high standard.
2. Design the space and its use for approved business cases to support in the development of these business cases.
3. Provide recommendations on the IT and other FF&E requirements for the approved business cases.
4. Explore, define and agree co-location, ways of working and space sharing opportunities to develop further initiatives by engaging with internal stakeholders, HR and third party organisations.
5. Ensure that the CAFM database is maintained up-to-date and appropriate references and links to documents are operational.
6. Liaise with and manage external consultants and contractors.
7. Research best practice, processes, methodologies and approaches to interior design and space planning.
8. Support the Strategic Asset Partnership Manager with the preparation and content of reports, strategic plans, other documents, briefings, presentations and FOIs for Council meetings, external agencies, senior officers, including the Council Management Team and the relevant committees as well as business and stakeholder groups.
9. Support the Council's democratic process, including Executive committees and Neighbourhood Partnerships, meetings of the Council and Elected Members etc.
Minimum Requirements
* Educated to degree level or equivalent - Desirable
* Recognised project management skills (preferably knowledge of using Prince2 methodology) - Desirable
* Demonstrable commitment to continuing professional development - Essential
