Let us tell you a bit about the opportunity You will be part of a team responsible for protecting the bank from unexpected bad debt by way of responsible lending within the Aldermore Lending Policy and Group Risk Framework. You will support the Specialist Car Credit Team in the underwriting of new business proposals ensuring proposals are underwritten consistently in accordance with Aldermore Lending Policy and Standards. You’ll communicate effectively with both internal and external stakeholders always exhibiting a ‘can do’ approach and consistently demonstrating and delivering on the Bank’s promises. To act as an ambassador of the Bank’s vision to; Back more people to go for it in life and in business. What will your day look like? You will report into the Senior Credit Manager – Specialist & Flow Credit, who will be your line manager and responsible for things like performance review meetings, 1-2-1s and development conversations. The role of Credit Specialist is really important to us. You will be responsible for: Understanding and applying the Asset Finance Lending Policy and Standards and therefore implementing the Bank’s AF Credit Risk Appetite. Individually assessing and recommending specific new business proposals within approval authority. Developing a network of stakeholder relationships, both internal and with the Bank’s broker panel within the specialist car group in order to continue providing excellent customer focus without compromising risk standards. Building and maintaining strong working relationship with Asset Management to confirm suitability of assets and structure being underwritten and inherent risks specific to transactions but also understanding the market dynamics around asset collaterals and how that relates to our appetite/origination and portfolio. Liaise with KYC dept and Financial Crime Departments regarding any related customer issues highlighted during the on-boarding process and identifying any Fraud risks. Attending ad hoc meetings, projects and undertaking ad hoc tasks as required. What do we expect from you? Extensive experience within the Asset Finance industry. Experience in credit underwriting with own delegated mandate (ideally). Experience of working within complex processes and systems in a regulated environment Experience of working to tight SLA’s and processing high volumes of new business proposals.
