Job Responsibilities
The duties will include, but are not limited to:
1. Carry out inspection of the Fire dampers in accordance with BS9999.
2. Install access doors into ventilation systems in accordance with DW144.
3. Install and repair passive fire stopping.
4. Install and repair fire dampers, including ductwork modifications.
5. Conduct regular inspections of the physical plant as instructed.
6. Follow a preventative maintenance program as instructed.
7. Make recommendations for major repairs to the physical plant.
8. Recommend the purchase of goods and equipment.
9. Maintain personal equipment and materials stocks inventories.
10. Provide written reports as required.
11. Ensure records are maintained.
All applicants are required to work within the guidance provided by BS 9999, RRO 2005 Order, DW144/145, and associated company documents to ensure that any plant worked on is tested, compliant, safe, and free from risks.
You will also be expected to undertake any other duties associated with the output of the Regional Team as required.
The hours of work are Monday to Friday, with a requirement to work overtime, including some weekend work.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
Knowledge:
The incumbent must have proficient knowledge in the following areas:
* Ventilation systems management in accordance with TR19.
* Fire damper testing and issue reporting in accordance with BS9999.
* Access doors installation in accordance with DW144.
* Passive fire stopping in accordance with The Regulatory Reform (Fire Safety) Order 2005.
* Holding a recognized qualification is preferred but not essential.
* Personal administration skills.
* Analytical and problem-solving skills.
* Decision-making skills and negotiation skills.
* Literacy skills, including the ability to read manuals.
* Effective verbal and listening communication skills.
