Position Description:
Therapist position in an advocacy center providing therapeutic services to sexually abused and severely physically abused children and non-offending caregivers.
Supervision Received:
Manager of Therapy Services
Requirements:
1. LMSW, LCSW, LMFT, or LPC, LMFT-A or LPC-I license
2. Experience in working with abused children
3. Experience and training in trauma work with children
4. Experience in providing individual, group, family and play therapy
5. Experience in providing crisis intervention services
6. Ability to work in multi-disciplinary team setting
7. Good speaking and writing skills
8. Bilingual preferred
Job Duties:
1. Provides individual, group, family and play therapeutic services to child victims and their families
2. Provides individual, group, family and play therapeutic services to child victims and their non-offending family members
3. Provides evidence based treatment such as TF-CBT to clients
4. Provides pre and post assessments to clients to measure changes
5. Develops treatment plans for clients and updates those plans
6. Documents sessions through case notes
7. Provides brief crisis intervention when necessary
8. Participates in multi-disciplinary team case staffing’s
9. Provides court testimony in civil and criminal cases
10. Provides community education regarding child abuse and CAFB
11. Maintains statistics and data entry as necessary for grant reports
12. Participates in the Children’s Advocacy Center’s on call program
13. Participates in CAFB awareness and fundraising activities
14. Perform other duties as assigned
15. May be required to bend and stoop and lift up to 20 lbs. in connection with assigned duties
