Job Summary
We are looking for an experienced full-time Legal Secretary to join our busy Private Client (Probate) team. We will also consider a Junior Paralegal who has completed their Law degree, wanting a step into their first law firm.
The ideal candidate will provide essential administrative support to our legal professionals, ensuring the smooth operation of the office. This role requires excellent time management skills, proficiency in various IT applications, and a strong ability to handle confidential information with discretion.
Duties
1. Manage and organise legal documents, ensuring they are accurately filed and easily accessible.
2. Perform audio typing of legal correspondence and documents.
3. Maintain an efficient office environment by managing fee earner diaries and appointments.
4. Utilise Microsoft Office applications including Word, Excel, and Outlook to create and manage documents and communications.
5. Liaise with clients in a professional manner.
6. Handle incoming calls and correspondence.
7. Willing to assist within the department and also when required to occasionally cover switchboard and reception.
Requirements
1. Proven experience as a Legal Secretary or in a similar administrative role within a legal environment is preferred.
2. Strong time management skills with the ability to prioritise tasks effectively.
3. Proficient in audio typing with excellent typing speed and accuracy.
4. Solid organisational skills with attention to detail in all aspects of work.
5. Competence in using IT systems and office software, particularly Microsoft Word and Outlook.
6. Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information responsibly.
7. Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
