Role Overview:
We are seeking an experienced and dedicated SEN Lead to join a large SEN secondary school. The successful candidate will lead our Special Educational Needs provision and ensure that all students with SEN receive the appropriate support to thrive academically and personally.
As SEN Lead, you will work closely with teachers, support staff, parents, external agencies, and the leadership team to develop and implement inclusive strategies and support systems that cater to the individual needs of students.
Key Responsibilities:
Lead the SEN department and oversee the day-to-day provision for students with SEN.
Develop, implement, and review the school's SEN policy in line with current legislation and best practices.
Identify students' SEN through assessments, observations, and referrals from teachers and parents.
Develop Individual Education Plans (IEPs) and coordinate their implementation with teaching staff and support teams.
Ensure all statutory requirements related to Education, Health, and Care Plans (EHCPs) are met and reviewed regularly.
Provide advice, training, and support to staff on effective SEN strategies and inclusive teaching practices.
Liaise with parents, carers, and external agencies to ensure collaborative working and the best outcomes for SEN students.
