Programme Support Officer - Local Authority
VANRATH is excited to support the recruitment of a Project Support Officer for a local authority. This is an initial 6-month assignment with potential for extension for the right candidate.
The post holder will report to the Programme Manager and will be responsible for coordinating, managing, and implementing allocated strategic corporate projects and programmes.
Responsibilities
1. Support the effective delivery of the portfolio of programmes and projects, ensuring desired outcomes are achieved.
2. Assist in implementing and sharing best practices related to programme and project management procedures, tools, and techniques.
3. Attend internal and external meetings and working groups relevant to the role, contribute actively, and follow up on key actions.
4. Liaise with personnel, management, stakeholders, consultants, and contractors as necessary.
Ideal Candidate
* Hold or be working towards a Prince2 or equivalent project management qualification.
* Have demonstrable experience in managing projects.
* Show evidence of risk assessment and problem-solving skills while delivering objectives within challenging timescales.
* Possess working knowledge of Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel, and Project.
Remuneration
Circa £40,000 plus pension, holiday pay, and discount benefits.
