Junior Buyer

As a trainee buyer you will be responsible for supporting the purchasing team and assist with sourcing, purchasing, and managing inventory of products and materials required by the organisation. This role involves helping to maintain strong relationships with vendors and taking responsibility for administrative requirements within the department. The Trainee Buyer will work closely with existing members of the procurement team, with the view of progressing within the department.
Specific Responsibilities/Tasks:
1. Support and resolve queries via telephone and email received via the procurement telephone line, providing excellent customer service both internally and externally.
2. Support the Commercial team by obtaining quotations and lead times to assist with tenders.
3. Enter delivery notes onto internal systems (E.g. Acumen) and ensure order books are kept up to date and accurate.
4. Assist with the checking and signing off of purchase invoice batches to ensure they are returned to the Accounts department in a timely manner, and within the Procurement SLAs.
5. Deal with and resolve any purchase order and invoice queries via both email and telephone in a professional manner at all times.
