Taxi Permit Administrator Arriva Road Transport Services (ARTS) Hybrid, Derby Permanent Arriva Road Transport Services (ARTS) which is part of Arriva UK Trains and oversees and manages all aspects of coaches, buses, taxis and coordinators which are provided for rail replacement, special events, school support and train crew support across the portfolio of customers within ARTS in both a pre-planned and on an emergency basis. We have an exciting opportunity to join the team as a Taxi Permit Administrator based in our Derby offices. Reporting into the Compliance and Safety Manager you will be providing administration of Station Taxi Ranks across ARTS supply chain, including the management of vehicle and associated licencing checks for all vehicles operating from station ranks. Administration activities include, but not limited to, processing annual permit applications, ensuring that only the permit holder(s) are operating within the contract scope and ensuring all compliance checks are conducted at taxi ranks, ensuring compliance to all licensing standards. You will receive fantastic benefits and a salary of £22,000 per annum Safety Responsibilities: To promote collaboration with internal and external stakeholders to plan, implement and sustain the delivery of unannounced inspections of vehicles and driver compliance with safety and permit standards. Work as part of a team to deliver a safe, reliable and efficient taxi crew movements through a series of desk-based permit application management before the operation, satisfying all Arriva Group Assurance requirements. This may include regularly review inspection reports to confirm that all vehicles and taxi drivers meet safety standards and any other relevant checks pertaining to the safe delivery of the on-the-ground operations. Managing all aspects of the taxi permit administration process, ensuring all data is presented periodically to the Safety & Compliance Manager. Compliance Responsibilities; Ensure that all taxi operators and drivers are informed and compliant with new safety-related laws and regulations via regular communication as well as supporting in any non-conformance correction actions. To plan and undertake either regular or ad hoc visits to the premises of our operators or visiting on-the-ground live operations to ensure that all aspects of Health and Safety are adhered. To support the Safety and Compliance Manager with any audit report writing, post-audit debriefs, follow-up meetings and actions. Promote change initiatives within the Compliance and Safety department and across ARTS creating a culture which develops employees and supports our succession plans; managing the performance, training, qualifications and development of staff to secure their commitment, competence and to drive improvements in performance and results. Assisting the Safety and Compliance Manager with collation of KPI data and risk/opportunity information for monthly operational board meetings and reports and with the strategic development and future growth of the department as required Qualifications: A detailed understanding of Health and Safety within the workplace and operations Strong organisational abilities for managing permit applications, renewals, and maintain appropriate documentation. Ability to work independently Proficient in maintaining accurate databases and filing systems. Ability to interact effectively with taxi operators, especially when handling inquiries, complaints, and providing clear information. Excellent written and IT skills and the ability to explain and present audit and performance results and analyses to senior management. Desirable A detailed understanding of local and government regulations related to taxi permits. Prior experience in a regulatory or compliance-focused role, especially within transport or public safety sectors. Ability to analyse permit data, generate reports, and provide insights for policy development. Ability to manage projects related to process improvements or technology innovations. Experience in providing high quality reports to internal and external stakeholders.
