Fixed Term, Full Time
£23,344 per annum
Please note this vacancy is available as a fixed term contract or secondment opportunity from 5th May 2025 until 5th January 2026.
The Opportunity
Essex Outdoors is a leading provider of outdoor experiences to schools in the East of England and is looking to grow its customer base both within this region and across the country. The Operations Assistant role will support the delivery of the Essex Outdoors programme of activities.
Accountabilities
1. Contribute to the Operational Function at the Centre, ensuring that customer requirements are determined and allocated correctly through the Bookings software platform and updated as required.
2. Use the Bookings software platform to ensure that all other functional areas of the Centre have the required information for all bookings.
3. Post on social media to highlight the activity on the climbing wall within the parameters set by Marketing and Business Development. Adhere to the policies and guidelines for social media.
4. Use of specialist knowledge to provide information, advice and guidance to customers and staff on specific bookings as required.
5. Provide exceptional levels of customer service to all customers of the Centre and ensure consistent adherence to both designed outcomes and agreed service levels.
6. Actively promote, process and secure local sales to increase income generation to meet assigned targets.
7. Administration and processing of payments received, in person or over the telephone, and collation of all monies to be banked according to the necessary processes.
8. Work flexibly and provide cross-service cover when fluctuating workloads or staff absences require this and to undertake such other duties as may reasonably be required commensurate with grade to support the business, including maintaining business continuity.
The Experience You Will Bring
1. Educated to RQF level 2 (GCSE) or equivalent by experience.
2. Ability to develop skills and knowledge within the role.
3. Experience of working within a learning environment is desirable.
4. Excellent attention to detail with the ability to record, report and maintain data effectively, accurately, and to deadlines.
5. Good communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to build working relationships.
