An exciting vacancy is available as a Body and Paint Technician in the Technical department at Cardiff and the Vale College. This post will be based across sites.
Responsibilities include:
1. To be actively involved in all timetabled practical sessions within the working hours of the contract providing support for staff with resources and equipment to enable these sessions to run effectively.
2. To maintain procedures for safe, efficient, and effective operation of the Faculty facilities.
3. To assist lecturing staff in the preparation of materials and equipment for student activities.
4. To ensure that adequate supplies of materials, equipment, and tools are available when and where required.
5. To dismantle learner's work and salvage materials for future use.
6. To keep a regular check on tools and equipment and to assist lecturing staff in ensuring general security within the department.
7. To assist in checking stock and keeping stock records updated on an annual basis.
8. To carry out general routine inspection maintenance.
9. To assist in ensuring a safe working environment in all areas designated. This duty includes portable appliance testing (PAT), COSHH regulations, and any future regulations that the College may need to introduce together with associated recording procedures.
10. Welsh language skills are not essential but would be desirable for this role.
