Main duties of the job
The SalariedGP is integral to providing primary healthcare services and ensuring thewell-being of the patients across all demographics. This role involvesdelivering a full range of medical services, including diagnosis, treatment,and prevention of diseases, to patients of all ages, managing both acute andchronic conditions. The position requires a collaborative approach tohealthcare, working alongside a team of healthcare professionals to facilitateeffective treatment outcomes and high standards of patient care.
In additionto clinical duties, the Salaried GP will actively participate in theimprovement of medical services within the practice, contributing to practicemanagement and decision-making processes. This role is pivotal in maintaininghigh clinical standards and patient satisfaction and requires staying updatedwith medical practices and guidelines that govern general practice

We are a long-established, friendly and forward-thinking practice serving the local communities of Ottery St Mary and the surrounding area.
As a training practice, we are able to support GP registrars as well as medical and nurse students. We haveapproximately 16,000 patients and a multidisciplinary team comprising GPs, ANPs, Nurses, Healthcare Assistants, and a GPA.

Job responsibilities
Clinical Responsibilities:
1. Patient Care:Deliver comprehensive medical care to patients, including consultation,diagnosis, treatment, and follow-up. Assess, diagnose, and treat a wide rangeof conditions, initiate referrals to specialist services as necessary.
2. Chronic DiseaseManagement: Oversee the management of complex chronic diseases usingpatient-centred, structured approaches. Utilise the latest clinical guidelinesto ensure effective management of complex conditions.
3. Acute MedicalCare: Provide urgent care for acute medical conditions and make decisionsregarding the need for emergency hospital admission.
4. PreventativeMedicine: Implement strategies aimed at disease prevention and health promotionwithin the practice population.
5. Home visiting:undertaking home visits including triage of visits as and when required.
Administrative Tasks:
6. Record Keeping:Maintain accurate and detailed medical records for all patients, ensuringconfidentiality and adherence to GDPR and other relevant legislation.
7. Quality Improvement:Participate in quality improvement programs that include audits, patientsurveys, and reviews of services to enhance clinical outcomes.
8. MeetingParticipation: Engage in regular multidisciplinary team meetings to collaborateon patient care, practice development, and clinical governance.
Educational Activities:
9. Training &Supervision: Provide guidance, teaching, and supervision to junior doctors,medical students, and practice staff to promote continuous professionaldevelopment within the practice.
10. ContinuedProfessional Development: Maintain and enhance medical skills and knowledgethrough ongoing CPD and training.
Communication:
11. PatientCommunication: Employ excellent communication skills to explain diagnoses,management plans, and therapeutic procedures to patients.
12. CollaborativeHealthcare Delivery: Work closely with healthcare professionals within thepractice and the wider medical community to provide seamless and integratedcare for patients.
Leadership and Management:
