This is an exciting opportunity for an enthusiastic and experienced social worker to join our team in playing an integral role in promoting the safety and wellbeing of children and their families across Sheffield.
The Sheffield Safeguarding Hub brings together a range of statutory and non-statutory resources involved in supporting and safeguarding the welfare of children in the City of Sheffield. We work together to provide the highest level of knowledge and analysis, ensuring that activity and intervention is timely, proportionate, and necessary.
Responsibilities:
As a Social Worker within the MASH Team, you will work as a key member of a Multi-Agency Safeguarding Hub, primarily undertaking screening and responding to all new referrals into children’s social care. You will be the first point of contact for children, young people, and families in need or in need of safeguarding within the City of Sheffield. As part of a team delivering high-quality and effective services, you will promote and safeguard the welfare of children in the city, complying with relevant legislation and regulations, maintaining the highest professional standards, and ensuring the consistent application of the threshold to step up from early help to children’s social care. Strong communication, engagement, and analytical skills will be essential to safeguard children and young people and engage effectively with a wide range of agencies. You will have a sound knowledge of relevant legislation and experience working in a front-line team with a thorough understanding of thresholds and universal services. Consistently applying high standards to ensure better outcomes for children and their families will be crucial. Additionally, you will need experience and skills in multi-agency partnership working across Children’s Services, promoting cooperation, and working together with other organizations and service users to shape, develop, and deliver services.
As a Social Worker within the MASH Team, you are required to:
1. Hold a Social Work England registration
2. Be eligible to work in the UK
3. Hold a full UK license
4. Social Work Qualification, degree or equivalent
5. At least 2 years’ experience as a social worker within children’s services
