Role Description This is a great opportunity to join us as the Transport Coordinator at our Tamworth branch. This is a pivotal role, supporting the Operations Manager in their day-to-day duties. You will be responsible for overseeing the smooth and efficient running of our transport and logistics operations, scheduling all deliveries and managing the necessary documentation for deliveries and collections. You will be accountable for ensuring compliance with all relevant regulations, including vehicle and driver hour regulations, operator licence requirements, and health and safety standards. The role also involves managing vehicle and crane inspections, fuel cards, defect reports, and accident management, while ensuring that all plant and machinery are kept in good repair. Additionally, you will work closely with the Health and Safety Manager to maintain a safe working environment for staff and customers and assist on the Trade Counter when required. Hours: 6.30am-5pm Mon-Fri Holiday: 22 days per year plus Bank Holidays Salary Range: £34,000-£37,000 per annum Benefits: Discretionary bonus scheme Requirements Proven experience in transport coordination or logistics, ideally within a Builders Merchants or construction-related environment. Strong understanding of UK transport regulations and delivery logistics. Excellent organisational, communication, and problem-solving skills. Ability to manage multiple priorities and work efficiently under pressure. Knowledge of ERP systems and fleet management software is desirable. Full UK driving license is advantageous. Attention to detail and proactive in addressing issues. A commitment to maintaining high standards of health and safety. Eligible to work in the UK.
