About the Role
Reporting to the SHEQ Lead, you will play a key role in developing, implementing, and maintaining health & safety protocols across multiple civils and highways sites. You will be instrumental in ensuring compliance with SHEQ legislation and embedding a culture of safety excellence across all levels of the organization.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Develop & Implement site-specific Health & Safety plans, ensuring best practices are followed.
2. Conduct Site Inspections & Audits, identifying risks and driving corrective actions.
3. Advise & Support Site Teams, ensuring compliance with SHEQ regulations and industry standards.
4. Investigate & Report on Incidents, ensuring lessons learned are embedded into future operations.
5. Monitor & Address Non-Compliance, ensuring all corrective actions are completed promptly.
6. Stay Up to Date with the latest SHE legislation & industry trends, sharing knowledge across the business.
What We're Looking For:
1. At least 3 years of experience in a Health & Safety role within construction, highways, or civils.
2. NEBOSH General or Construction Certificate (or equivalent) and a solid understanding of H&S legislation.
3. Strong ability to engage with stakeholders, influence site teams, and promote a proactive safety culture.
4. A full UK driving license - This role requires regional site visits (though travel is not excessive).
5. A positive, solutions-focused mindset with a passion for continuous improvement in safety.
