We are looking for a Learning Support Assistant to join our team at Queen Emma’s Primary School, as an LSA you will:
• support children in their learning
• be passionate about learning and committed to making a difference to the pupils of our school

The successful candidate for this role will have:
• experience of working with children in a learning environment
• excellent literacy, numeracy and ICT skills
• an empathy with children
• the ability to inspire and motivate pupils

We use Read, Write, Inc to teach children how to read. This approach ensures every child learns how to read accurately and fluently to enable them to comprehend. We teach writing using the 'Write Stuff' principles. These principles guarantee that all children develop their vocabulary and confidence with a range of sentence structures. We teach Maths using 'Inspire Maths'. Children are in small, flexible groups to ensure prerequisites are embedded and gaps are closed. Using this concrete, pictorial and abstract methods to teach mathematical concepts enables all children to make incredible progress.

• Stopfor Life is asmokingcessationservice- we support all tobacco smokers in the county aged 12 and over tostopsmoking, using techniques including 1 to 1 coaching, app support and smoking cessation aids - all of this is provided forfree. Support is tailored to the individual and can be done face to face, over the phone or via messaging. The aim is for each referral to be completely smoke-freeby the end of their 12-week plan.

Appointments can be booked online and are taken at one of our community hubs - we have lots of these around Oxfordshire, so there's something local to everyone. The checks take 30 minutes and include measuring the client's height, weight, waist, BMI, blood pressure, blood sugar & cholesterol.

This is a primary LSA role. You will be working with KS1 and KS2 children.
