Moonbug Entertainment, a leader in creating captivating content for platforms like YouTube, Netflix, and over 100 others, is seeking a dynamic Senior Production Accountant to contribute to our diverse content creation’s financial success.

The role
At Moonbug, we are passionate about crafting exceptional content, from bespoke "Originals" for partners such as Amazon, Sky, and Netflix, to hours of "Core" content for platforms like YouTube. We also produce "Third Party Branded" content for external partners, demonstrating our versatility and collaboration with industry giants.
As a key member of the Studios finance team, reporting directly to the Senior Director of Finance, you will play a pivotal role in all aspects of production accounting. Your responsibilities will include verifying invoices and expenses, collaborating with the VP of Production on budgets and forecasts, and supporting the smooth execution of our ambitious content projects from our London head office, working closely with our creative teams.
Responsibilities
* Spearhead the execution of live-action projects, ensuring seamless integration of production elements for high-quality outcomes.
* Build strong collaborative relationships with producers, serving as a liaison between creative teams and business stakeholders.
* Participate in pre-production meetings, providing financial guidance and strategic input to align plans with budgets and business goals.
* Implement financial controls to track and report production costs accurately, maintaining transparency and accountability.
* Work with finance teams to maintain accurate financial records and provide timely cost reports for informed decision-making.
* Assist producers in developing and refining project cost estimates, considering resources, market conditions, and potential challenges.
* Monitor expenses against estimates, addressing variances promptly to meet project and stakeholder expectations.
* Collaborate with treasury and financial planning teams to optimize cash management and support overall financial health.
* Create clear financial presentations for broadcast partners and senior management, communicating key insights effectively.
* Engage stakeholders in discussions on financial strategies, addressing queries and aligning on financial goals.
* Participate in scenario planning with producers to assess risks and develop contingency plans to mitigate financial challenges and capitalize on opportunities.
Requirements
* Experience using Smart Accounting software to streamline financial processes and improve reporting accuracy.
* Strong financial background with proven experience in production accounting.
* Deep understanding of financial principles, especially in live-action projects.
* Experience managing projects from inception to completion while maintaining high standards.
* Knowledge of tax credits is preferred but not mandatory.
* Experience in the animation industry is advantageous.
* Familiarity with Movie Magic software.
The interview process involves two main stages:
1. Recruiter call (30 minutes)
2. First-stage video call plus a task (30–45 minutes)
3. In-office face-to-face interview and office tour (45 minutes)
