Chemistry Teacher Required - Outstanding Ofsted School in Lambeth - January 2025 Start A high-achieving secondary school in the vibrant borough of Lambeth, with an 'Outstanding' Ofsted rating, is seeking to appoint a well-qualified and enthusiastic Chemistry Teacher to join their successful Science department. This is a full-time, permanent position commencing in January 2025. The Role: The successful candidate will be responsible for teaching Chemistry across Key Stages 3, 4, and potentially 5, depending on the candidate's specialism and experience. Key responsibilities include: Planning and delivering engaging and challenging lessons that meet the requirements of the national curriculum and inspire students to develop a love of chemistry and scientific inquiry. Creating a stimulating and supportive learning environment that encourages student participation, experimentation, and critical thinking. Assessing and monitoring student progress, providing constructive feedback, and implementing differentiated learning strategies to cater to diverse learning needs and abilities. Utilizing a variety of teaching resources, including laboratory equipment, ICT, and demonstrations, to enhance students' understanding of chemical concepts and practical skills. Collaborating with colleagues within the Science department to develop and enhance the curriculum, share best practices, and contribute to the school's commitment to excellence in science education. The Successful Candidate will have: A degree in Chemistry or a closely related field. Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or an equivalent teaching qualification. A strong understanding of the KS3 and KS4 Chemistry curriculum, with knowledge of KS5 desirable. Excellent subject knowledge and a passion for chemistry. Strong classroom management skills and the ability to create a positive and inclusive learning environment.
