The Role: We are seeking a Front of House Supervisor for Dining Halls at Shrewsbury School, they will be responsible for ensuring the smooth operation of daily dining services as well as coordinating and overseeing special events, such as formal dinners, balls, and receptions.The ideal candidate will be a hands-on leader with a passion for hospitality, excellent organisational skills, and the ability to deliver exceptional service in a high-end, educational environment. What you’ll do: Daily Operations: Oversee the day-to-day front of house operations for all dining halls, ensuring a high standard of service is always maintained. Supervise and train front of house staff, including servers and dining attendants, to ensure efficient and courteous service. Coordinate with kitchen staff to ensure timely and accurate delivery of meals, addressing any issues or special requests promptly. Maintain a welcoming and orderly dining environment, managing seating arrangements, table settings, and overall cleanliness. Monitor inventory of front of house supplies (e.g. linens, tableware) and coordinate with the Dining Services Manager to ensure adequate stock. Special Events: Plan and supervise the execution of special occasions, including formal balls, themed dinners, and other school events, ensuring they are delivered to the highest standards. Collaborate with event organisers, including school administration and external vendors, to finalise event details such as menus, seating plans, and service styles. Oversee event setup and breakdown, ensuring that all elements (e.g., decorations, AV equipment) are in place and functioning as needed. Lead the front of house team during events, ensuring smooth service flow and addressing any issues in real-time. Ensure that all health and safety regulations are adhered to during events.
