The Automation Hardware Specialist for Beckman Coulter Diagnostics is responsible to provide excellent customer service to clients while installing and maintaining diagnostic instrumentation and systems in hospital and stand-alone laboratory environments. This position is part of the Customer Care Dx Organisation and As Automation Hardware Specialist you will be remotely located in Spain, Italy or UK supporting our customers and impacting directly patients health and overall well-being. You will be a part of the Installation Team and report to the Field Application (Customer Care) Manager responsible for providing frontline support by resolving customer(s) problems and issues through technical, scientific expertise and troubleshooting. You will help drive revenue growth while ensuring strong customer contract retention rates and warranty conversion. Use critical thinking to resolve application issues, train our customers, verify the operational performance and data quality of systems. In this role, you will have the opportunity to: Design and Development: - Install and configure automated hardware systems for diagnostic applications. - Implement complex detailed specifications, schematics, and technical drawings for hardware components and systems in laboratory environments System Integration: - Integrate hardware components with software systems to ensure seamless operation. - Collaborate with software engineers, diagnostic specialists, and other stakeholders to ensure compatibility and functionality. - Conduct testing and validation to verify system performance and reliability. Implementation and Support: - Provide technical support and troubleshooting for hardware-related issues. - Conduct maintenance and calibration of hardware systems to ensure optimal performance. Quality Assurance and Compliance: - Implement and maintain rigorous quality control processes for hardware systems. - Ensure compliance with relevant industry standards and regulatory requirements (e.g., FDA, ISO). - Conduct regular audits and inspections to ensure ongoing compliance. Project Management: - Plan and manage hardware automation projects from concept to completion. - Develop project timelines, budgets, and resource allocation. - Ensure projects are completed on schedule and within budget constraints. The essential requirements of the job include: - Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field. A Master's degree is preferred. - Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in hardware engineering, with a focus on automation systems. - Proven experience in the diagnostics industry or a related field. - Strong technical skills in hardware design, development, and integration. - Excellent problem-solving and analytical abilities. It would be a plus if you also possess previous experience in: - Strong communication and interpersonal skills. - Proficiency in hardware design and CAD software. - Knowledge of regulatory standards and compliance requirements in the diagnostics industry. Additional Requirements: - Requirement to travel within Europe to support customers using your technical expertise with overnight stays as needed (up to 80%). - Hold a current valid driver's license and good driving record.
