The Junior Sister/Charge Nurse in ED is a varied job role that combines clinical duties, team leadership, and management responsibilities. The successful candidate will be professionally accountable and responsible for the standards and delivery of nursing care within their area of management.
They will have expert level knowledge and be able to deliver quality emergency nursing care in all areas of the ED, including Resus and Majors. They will uphold exceptional standards of IPC and cleanliness and act as a coach/mentor to junior members of the team.
Responsible for the information governance on his/her Ward/Department and the completeness of data.

We have an exciting opportunity for an experienced, enthusiastic, highly skilled Registered Nurse to join the nursing leadership team within the Emergency Department as a Band 6 Sister/Charge Nurse. You will need to demonstrate a high level of knowledge and experience in Emergency Care with a commitment to providing high-quality, safe care for all patients that attend the Emergency Department. You should have nursing experience of triage and assessment of the unwell/injured patient, Resuscitation, Major, and Minor Illness with an ability to lead and mentor junior team members.

Person Specification
Education & Qualification
* Registered Nurse
* Competent in Ambulance and Minors Triage and Assessment
* Post-registration qualification in Critical Care/A&E
Knowledge & Experience
* Demonstrate experience as a Senior Band 5 or Band 6 nurse in Acute nursing/Emergency Department or Acute setting
* Demonstrates the ability to manage high-quality patient care provision
* In-depth knowledge of quality issues and clinical governance
* Must be able to demonstrate a comprehensive knowledge of current health and social care agenda, including current legislation
* Experience of change management
Skills and Aptitudes
* Excellent personal and communication skills
* Ability to facilitate and support learning

* Demonstrate ability to think creatively and laterally

Salary: £37,338 a year (Per Annum, Pro Rata for Part Time)
