From swimming lessons to walking football and everything in-between, we are driven to provide fun and welcoming sessions to support the whole community to be active, both within our leisure centres and in the local community.
We are looking for a General Manager to oversee our Summerfields Leisure Centre in Hastings.
We seek a manager with proven entrepreneurial ability, financial acumen, a passion for high standards, and a history of ownership and results delivery. Excellent commercial awareness, the ability to drive sales/income, and manage expenditure are key qualities. The ability to lead, motivate, and support the centre team and to work with internal and external customers/stakeholders/community is essential.
Your responsibilities will include:
1. Business & Sales Management: Accountability for the centre's business, budget, and performance. Developing business plans and leading colleagues to meet performance targets.
2. Operational Management: Ensuring operational standards, record-keeping, and safety are maintained, providing a welcoming environment.
3. People Management: Recruiting and managing staff, delivering high standards, engaging the community, and supporting staff development.
You should have the skills and experience to lead the centre and engage the community, manage multiple priorities, motivate colleagues, and work under pressure.

Hours: 37 hours per week, including weekends
Minimum Requirements:
* Develop and grow membership, activity, and attendance
* Manage income and expenditure
* Lead as the site’s main contact and report to the Area Manager
* Adhere to Freedom Leisure policies and procedures
* Manage site audits
* Produce operational reports and KPIs
* At least 3 years’ experience in leisure facilities
* Experience in staff training and development
* Demonstrated passion for the industry through continuous professional development
