The Role
An exciting opportunity exists within Tameside Council’s Engineering Service’s Traffic team. The successful candidate, for the post of Traffic Services Manager, will be experienced and enthusiastic about improving the performance, reliability and safety of the boroughs highway network.
Your primary role will involve the management of the council’s Traffic team that deliver the council’s statutory duties with regard to the Traffic Management Act. This includes coordinating all on-street activity via the statutory role of Traffic Manager.
You will have responsibility for development and delivery of a range of traffic related projects including the council’s highway safety programme, Vision Zero and moving traffic contravention projects. You will work closely with other stakeholders across the council, elected members and external partners to support the council’s wider ambitions and delivery of a transport system that operates safely, sustainably and efficiently.

As a member of Engineering Services management team, you will have excellent management and project management skills combined with strong communication and financial management experience.
