1-1 Teaching Assistant – Alternative Provision (Wirral)
Do you have a passion for supporting young people and helping them reach their full potential? We are looking for a dedicated and compassionate 1-1 Teaching Assistant to join a specialist alternative provision in the Wirral.
The Role
This is a full-time position offering the opportunity to provide individualised support to a student within a specialist setting. You will play a key role in helping the student overcome barriers to learning, build confidence, and engage with their education. For the right candidate, there is potential for a permanent position.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Develop a strong and trusting relationship with the student, creating a safe and supportive learning environment.
2. Provide personalised academic and emotional support to help the student re-engage with education.
3. Work closely with staff and external professionals to ensure a consistent and tailored approach.
4. Encourage and motivate the student, helping them progress both academically and personally.
About You
The ideal candidate will:
1. Have prior experience working in an alternative provision setting (essential).
2. Be patient, empathetic, and able to build positive relationships with young people.
3. Have experience supporting students with SEMH or additional needs.
4. Be committed to providing a nurturing and structured learning environment.
5. Work well within a team, contributing to a positive and collaborative school environment.
