A day in the life of an Employment Consultant At the heart of an Employment Consultant role is enabling people with barriers to prepare for, find, and keep a job they love. But this role is so much more than that. The balance of your work might change as you find your stride, but to start off, it will look a little something like this: 35% directly supporting job seekers with barriers to grow, develop, and realise their potential. This may be in person or on the phone. 20% creating and sourcing new opportunities for your job seekers. 10% collaborating, planning, and sharing your ideas, skills, and experience with the team. 35% maintaining and completing records, claims, and other important documentation. You might not have direct experience working with people with disability, but you are willing to go on a journey of continuous learning and growth. Proactive: You are a self-starter and who has a positive attitude towards building relationships, maximising opportunities, and striving to reach KPIs. Administration: You don’t need to be a tech guru to succeed here, but you do need to have intermediate computer literacy, phone, and record keeping skills.
