Binnies an RSK Group Company are delighted to have recently join the @one Alliance for Anglian water and we are seeking a Commercial Administration Assistant to join our team in Peterborough. The commercial assistant will also be a key face for Binnies within the office providing ad-hoc support and guidance to our team and a link back to the Binnies management team.
The @one Alliance is a totally collaborative organisation made up of our eight partner companies (Anglian Water, Balfour Beatty, Barhale, Binnies, MMB, MWH Treatment, Skanska and SWECO) and our extended supply chain, delivering over half of Anglian Water’s capital investment programme.
We are gearing up for our most exciting and challenging Asset Management Period yet, known as AMP8, this will see us deliver a programme of work larger than we’ve ever delivered before. The @one Alliance is a new framework for Binnies and as such we anticipate a growing team and excellent career and growth opportunities for those involved.
About the Role
The commercial assistant will provide support to the commercial manager and framework Director. They will provide all areas of administration and support necessary for the successful operation of Binnies part in the alliance, including:
1. Monthly invoicing using Microsoft Excel
2. Timesheet administration (including bulk uploading timesheets into our client’s proprietary system)
3. Project administration supporting project managers
4. Organisation and administration of team events
5. Approval of expenses for team members
6. Booking travel & accommodation
7. Support to the wider Binnies business for similar tasks
For the first few months the successful applicant will be required to travel to our Redhill office for onboarding and training. The role may also require travel to other offices from time to time (expenses will be paid).
Prior experience is not necessary as training will be provided. Attendance at the offices in Peterborough (typically 3 days a week) is an essential requirement. However we are looking for someone who is able to identify changes and improvements that can be made to our procedures and team support, taking the initiative and identifying these to our management team.
Essential Requirements
The successful candidate will be a key part of the support team and will often be the first port of call for administrative support to our team members. You must be a friendly and approachable person, willing to actively support people, whatever their issue is.
You must be able to demonstrate mathematical agility required to undertake financial administration, we anticipate this could be provided with:
8. A degree in a technical or STEM subject; OR
9. Prior experience of a similar role; OR
10. Other experience or education which would demonstrate ability to manage financial administration
