If the answer to these is 'Yes', we would love to hear from you. We are looking for a Clinical Psychologist who is passionate about making a difference to the lives of people experiencing early psychosis to join our Early Intervention team in North Warwickshire and Rugby.
The post is funded as 0.8-1.0wte but there is some flexibility if people wish to work fewer hours.
Main duties of the job
As a Senior Clinical Psychologist you will be expected to provide significant therapy provision in this friendly and committed multi-disciplinary team, as well as contributing to team and Trust-wide development of our Early Intervention in Psychosis Service. You will work with people with early psychosis and their families and all the challenges this brings. You will be expected to promote values that seek to support recovery in this client group and maximise the potential of individuals with the aim of reducing social exclusion, stigma and the potentially disabling effects of psychosis. You will play a role in welcoming, supporting and seeing peer workers flourish in new roles.

It is essential that candidates have post qualification experience of working with people with psychosis. Experience in delivering CBT and family interventions with people with first episode psychosis, including those with complex presentations and trauma, is highly desirable. Experience of using trauma-focused interventions is also highly desirable. You are required to hold a current professional registration with the HCPC, and it would be advantageous to be BABCP accredited or have passed a BABCP accredited CBT training course. A recognised qualification, current training or commitment to undertake training in CBT for psychosis is highly desirable. The ability to travel over a large geographical area may still be necessary on occasion. The ability to work flexibly with the needs of the client group is essential.
We support our psychologists to develop their skills, particularly in developing specialist skills in working with psychosis, trauma and family work. There will be exciting opportunities to complete HEE funded courses on CBT for psychosis (CBTp) and Behavioural Family Therapy. We also encourage and support our psychologists to undertake EMDR training and there are opportunities for regular EMDR supervision. We welcome people with an interest in research, particular areas of clinical practice or particular types of intervention, and will give dedicated time for these.
