Job summary
Ixworth Surgery is seeking a Health Care Assistant or qualified Nursing Associate to join our friendly team at a busy rural practice. This is a part-time role, offering 20 hours per week.
Preferred candidates will have experience in phlebotomy, ECGs, blood pressure monitoring, basic health checks, wound care, and dressings. An interest in chronic diseases and learning disabilities is also advantageous.
Salary is based on experience, with a start date in October or November 2024.
Main duties of the job
Working under the direct supervision of the lead practice nurse and in strict accordance with established practice guidelines and protocols, the healthcare assistant/nursing associate will support the clinical team in delivering prescribed patient care programs. Maintaining a professional demeanor and ensuring patient confidentiality are essential. A uniform will be provided.

Ixworth Surgery is a GMS GP practice with a patient list of 9,000. It is owned and operated by 4 GP partners who are supported by Salaried GPs, Nurse Practitioners, a Respiratory Nurse Specialist, Practice Nurses and a Health Care Assistant. There is also an onsite pharmacy/dispensary. Administrative support is provided by the Practice Management team, Admin team and Reception team.
Ixworth Surgery is a part of Blackbourne Primary Care Network. The practices that form Blackbourne PCN are located in West Suffolk, close by to Bury St Edmunds, and care for patients in rural communities.
