Job Description:
An exciting opportunity to work in a fast paced, growing organisation within the Dynamic Systems Repair and Overhaul Department. As a Skilled Fitter reporting to the Production Supervisor, you will work as part of a shift team undertaking fitting activities associated with the strip, build, repair and test on a variety of transmission units.
Please note this is a JFF Level 3 - Manufacturing
WHAT YOU WILL DO AS A SKILLED FITTER
Main responsibilities will include, but not be limited to:
1. Work within defined processes and systems to ensure that Strip and Build activities are undertaken in line with company and customer quality requirements
2. Undertake training to achieve approval for various special processes
3. Carry out inspection activities as dictated by your registered scope of approvals subject to appropriate training
4. Work in accordance with the Company Operating System, Departmental Instructions and Shop Supervision to ensure the most effective use of labour to manage the requirements of the workload
5. You are responsible for taking reasonable care of your own health and safety and that of others who may be affected by your acts or omissions at work and to co-operate with managers, supervisors and others to enable the company to meet its statutory obligations for health, safety and environment
WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR
6. An Engineering Apprenticeship in a relevant discipline (please upload certificates with CV when applying)
7. Experience of working as a mechanical fitter in an appropriate industry
8. Excellent teamwork and communication skills
9. Attention to detail
10. Flexible with the ability to work either on your own, or as part of a shift team and meet departmental build requirements
11. Willingness to become involved with improvement teams and activities
12. Willing to undertake training to improve competence levels in support of departmental activities and to Fitter Inspector status
We require candidates to upload their Apprenticeship and NVQ level 3 for the application to be considered (inclusive for anyone pre 1990 and post 1990)
