Learning Disability CAMHS Link Nurse Therapist
Band 6 - £39,912 £48,635 pro rata
Plus £1,349 Distant Island Allowance pro rata
29.7 Hours per Week

Due to ongoing developments within CAMHs an exciting opportunity has arisen to expand our CAMHs and Learning Disability services in the Western Isles. The Learning Disability CAMHs nurse will hold an interface role between services. Working closely with local statutory and voluntary agencies as part of the specialist team, candidates can enjoy the challenges of providing learning disability and mental health services within busy rural mental health settings on the beautiful Western Isles.
We are seeking forward thinking, enthusiastic and highly motivated individuals to appoint to our teams as we strive to meet the new National Service Specifications and standards for care.
Working within the community setting, the post holder will carry a diverse caseload providing therapeutic interventions to children, young people and their families. Consultation within schools and local agencies as part of the GIRFEC framework is core to the role.
The successful applicant will be required to register with the PVG (Protecting Vulnerable Groups) Scheme.
Candidates will ideally have:
* First level Registered Mental Nurse or Learning Disability qualification.
* Post registration experience within acute community care
* Be educated to degree level or experiential equivalent
* Experience within a Learning disability or CAMHS Service or the ability to deliver psychological therapies for those with neurodevelopmental conditions would be an advantage

NHS Scotland is reducing their full time working week from 37.5 to 37 hours per week from 1 April 2024 but with no change in pay. This reduction will also be applied pro rata for part time staff. This advert and any subsequent offer/contract of employment therefore reflects the new working hours. However, as not all service areas will be able to adopt the 37 hour working week immediately from 1 April 2024, you may be required to work up to an additional 30 minutes per week for a temporary period for which you would be paid until the service you are working in changes rosters or working patterns to accommodate the new reduced working week.
