The purpose of this role is to assist in the co-ordination, delivery and supervision of custody and criminal justice services, with primary responsibility for the wellbeing of persons in custody and first line management of custody officers and staff. To undertake the statutory functions and duties of a Police Custody and Security Officer, providing for the care, welfare, security and escort of persons in custody in accordance with standard operating procedures and relevant legislation. To be responsible for the processing, procedures and security of all productions retained for possible use at court and to provide a custodier service in relation to lost, found and stolen property. To support the administration of various criminal justice processes including the processing and maintenance of warrants and other legal documents; review and transmission of standard prosecution reports and other associated documents; and creation, maintenance and quality assurance of criminal justice records.
