Our client in the Romford area is seeking a dedicated Health & Safety Assistant to join their team. The Health & Safety Assistant will support the organisation's health and safety initiatives, promoting a positive culture in an educational setting to meet legal requirements. This is an excellent opportunity for a candidate looking to gain experience in health and safety.
Responsibilities
1. Assist in implementing and maintaining health and safety policies and procedures
2. Conduct regular inspections and audits to identify potential hazards
3. Investigate accidents and near misses
4. Support the development of health and safety training materials
5. Collaborate with teams across the organisation to ensure compliance with regulations
6. Coordinate health and safety training programmes
7. Maintain accurate records and documentation related to health and safety activities
Qualifications
1. Proven knowledge and understanding of health and safety regulations and best practices
2. Strong organisational and communication skills
3. Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment
4. Attention to detail and strong problem-solving abilities
5. Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite and other relevant software
6. Certification or training in health and safety is a plus
Day-to-day
1. Conduct safety inspections and report findings
2. Assist in developing safety training materials
3. Collaborate with various departments to address health and safety concerns
4. Maintain accurate records and documentation related to health and safety activities
Salary Range
£30,000 - £33,000
