Qualified Social Worker – Duty
Location: Merseyside
Pay rate: £45,428 To: £47,464 per annum
We are looking for experienced and passionate Assistant Team Manager to manage a team of Social Workers within the Duty Service. The Duty Service has 4 teams and works 1 week in 4 on duty. The Duty teams receive all referrals from the MASH and undertakes all assessments of children in need and those children subject to section 47 enquiries. You will be supporting the team manager of a busy Duty Team in supporting the team’s response to keeping children safe, this will include supporting performance and practice, developing and mentoring newly qualified social workers. Your experience and knowledge will enable you to be able to support more complex areas of practice, whilst supporting the team manager in chairing strategy meetings and or attending child in need meetings for example. You will have the responsibility of a reduced caseload. This is an exciting opportunity for you to utilise existing skills and develop new ones. Working in accordance with social care legislation and local government requirements, informed by the values and principles of social care; you will be supporting in the delivery of person centred, safe and effective social care services. Using your professional knowledge and experience you’ll make assessments and decisions about the most appropriate interventions. Applying your significant Social Work experience and excellent communication skills you’ll establish and maintain relationships with service users and other agencies to ensure services meet identified needs.

Perfect candidate will be:
1. Qualified Social Worker registered with Social Work England.
2. Experienced in working with children and families including those from vulnerable groups.
3. Experience working within, Court, Children in Need and Child Protection.
4. Supporting child and families subject CIN and Child Protection planning, pre-proceedings and court proceedings
5. Understand factors that impact children including abuse and neglect
6. Undertake Child & Family Assessments demonstrating effective analysis, decision making, planning and review
7. Undertake effective direct work with children and families
8. Creative, flexible and forward thinking in approach.
9. Knowledgeable of Child Protection legislation and understanding of child protection issues.
10. Constantly striving for continuous improvement to provide the best outcomes for children.
11. Able to use excellent mediation and negotiation skills on behalf of service users.
12. Highly skilled at building meaningful relationships with children and families to engage them in assessments and plans.
13. Committed to providing our service users with a high-quality service.
14. Experienced in working in a multi-disciplinary, interagency basis.
