The University's Office of External Affairs and Communications is looking for a talented researcher to join its Public Affairs & Civic Engagement Team to deliver a fixed term project. In 2024, the University of Cambridge created a new civic engagement function to strengthen connections and collaborations between staff, students, and local communities with the ambition of creating meaningful partnerships and positive impacts. To help shape our approach to civic engagement, we are undertaking a thorough listening and consultation exercise with local civic and community stakeholders, and with our staff and student communities. Working with the Civic Engagement Manager, the Researcher - Civic Listening will deliver a six-month research project leading on the internal consultation aspects of the civic listening exercise. The role holder will be responsible for planning and leading the project, organising focus groups and workshops, undertaking research (including quantitative and qualitative analysis), reporting on the results of the research and contributing to recommendations for future activity. In addition, the role holder will support the team's broader civic engagement activities including wider consultation and listening with local communities. The role holder will be part of the Public Affairs & Civic Engagement Team and will report to the Civic Engagement Manager.
