ALM Hedging Manager - Salary is competitive Location - York or Bristol The ALM & Hedging Technical Shared Services team is the centre of excellence for Asset Liability Management in the Aviva Group. The team is responsible for responsible for Asset Liability and Hedging Management across the UK Life, UK GI, Ireland and Group Centre businesses covering a diverse range of With-Profits funds, Matching Adjustment Portfolio ('MAP') annuity funds and other non-profit funds. A bit about the job: The role is required to produce, manage and deliver ALM and Hedging insights across the businesses. Overall the key responsibility of the role will be to optimise the balance sheet while controlling risk for the businesses they are working with. The role holder will be required to support a range of activities, which depending on the skills and background of the candidate, will include: The ongoing development and implementation of a robust asset allocation strategies (SAA) across the Group, core businesses and including With-Profits funds to ensure that the group overall operates at the efficient frontier of risk/reward and the best outcomes for the customer. Development and management of hedging strategies. Ensuring market risks are understood and managed, with robust and well-controlled processes. Supporting capital management initiatives and activities through ALM solutions Provide management information for various forums and committees on asset allocation, hedging and investment activity across the Group businesses. Skills and experience we're looking for: Good relationship management skills. Comfortable with SMART working. We are looking for a good communicator (written and oral), comfortable working across the team, and comfortable working with a wide variety of different stakeholders in the business. Ability to work in a flexible, dynamic and proactive manner. Ability to prioritise and plan. Strong understanding of the Solvency II balance sheet, its components and how they relate to underlying assets and liabilities, and how they behave under stress. Strong analytical and problem solving skills including the ability to use IT effectively (e.g. Excel). VBA, Power-query, Python or R skills would be useful.
