Deputy Residential Care Manager Location: Bingley Salary: £34,000 – £39,000 NEG DOE Contract: Permanent Hours: 40 hours per week, Monday to Friday Join us at our new provision in Bingley and play a pivotal role in forging a brighter future for every child in our care. We are seeking an experienced and passionate Registered Care Manager who is committed to providing children with the best possible start in life in a warm, homely, nurturing, and safe environment. Day-to-day of the role: Support the Registered Care Home Manager with the daily operations of the home. Ensure all recruitment aligns with the company's 'Safer Recruitment' policy. Write care plans, organise around referrals and matching, manage staff, and liaise with social workers and family members. Implement performance management systems to audit in line with Children’s Homes Regulations 2015 and Quality Standards. Provide support to service users, promoting an active, fulfilled life and a happy, friendly environment. Lead and be a role model to all staff, maintaining evidence-based support and care practices. Manage budgets, rota-management, and plan experiences in a fast-paced residential children’s home. Develop and maintain partnerships with internal and external agencies to meet the holistic needs of children and young people. Uphold safeguarding processes and policies and adhere to the Health and Social Care Act 2008 and other relevant legislative requirements. Lead the home consistently with the approach and ethos as set out in the Statement of Purpose. Communicate effectively, ensuring all documentation and records by support workers are accurate and timely. Conduct regular supervisions, spot checks, competency reviews, and lead investigations into complaints and safeguarding issues. Manage and review risk assessments and develop individual person-centred support plans. Oversee the running of the home in the absence of the manager and manage the home’s rota to ensure 24/7 cover. Ideal Candidate: An excellent communicator, both verbal and written. Experienced in budgeting, rota-management, and planning in a residential children’s home setting. Strong understanding of performance management and monitoring to inform service development. Demonstrated leadership skills and the ability to effectively manage a team.
