Job Title: Care Support Worker - Mental health

Main duties of the job
What you'll be responsible for:
* Monitoring patients' conditions by taking temperatures, pulse, respirations, and weight.
* Assisting in the delivery of patient care as directed by the Registered Nurse.
* Ensuring that the patient is the prime focus when making decisions about their care and wellbeing.
* Assisting patients with compassion when undertaking normal activities of daily living whilst ensuring that privacy, dignity, and human rights are respected.
* The role will involve, but not be limited to you performing the above.

Shift Patterns: - Long Day 07:30 am - 20:00 pm; Late: 19:30 pm - 20:00 pm

What you'll need:
* A minimum of 6 months paid experience in a Mental Health hospital environment within the last 3 years.
* Comply with NMC Professional Registration and keep up to date with current nursing practices.
*Depending on the Trust, you may require variable additional certification and skills.

Person Specification
Experience
* A minimum of 6 months experience as a Mental Health Care Assistant.
* MAPA or Safety Intervention training Advanced and Emergency is desirable; however, if you do not hold this training, it will be provided. Once 10 shifts have been completed, we will pay you for the training days.
Qualifications
* All Care support worker roles will be required to provide evidence of completing the Care Certificate or a relevant qualification.
* Student Nurse with at least 12 weeks clinical placements.
* Care Certificate from an NHS Organisation.
* QCF Level 2 Diploma in Healthcare Support Services issued after 2011.
* QCF Level 2 or above Diploma in Health & Social Care or Clinical Healthcare Support issued after 2011.
* Degree/Diploma in Nursing and currently do not have an NMC Registration.
