Are you a highways engineer looking to join a successful UK consultancy?
An award-winning multi-discipline engineering and planning consultancy are seeking an experienced Highways Engineer to join their Cardiff Office. In this role, you’ll be ensuring high quality client solutions and contributing to the continued success of the firm.
They carry out work across all major sectors including Residential, Health, Education and Energy and more. Projects sizes vary from multi-million pound hospitals to small residential schemes.
The role
In this role as a Highway Engineer, you’ll be:
1. Preparing highway design packages for submission to local highway authorities and successfully navigating the technical audit process.
2. Efficiently managing a varied workload to meet project deadlines.
3. Representing the company at project meetings, confidently communicating, and presenting your designs.
4. Working alongside the Transport Directors to deliver top of the range Consultancy Advice, liaising and getting a firm understanding of Clients Requirements and to effectively manage resources.
5. Helping support and mentor more junior staff as well as continuing your Project Management and commercial skills.
The ideal candidate will have:
At least 5 years of experience in consultancy design
Technical design experience in Section 278, 184, and 38 agreements of the Highways Act 1980.
Working knowledge of Section 104, 106, and 185 agreements of the Water Industries Act 1991, as well as Section 23 of the Land Drainage Act 1991 (desirable but not essential).
Proficiency in technical software such as AutoCAD, Civil 3D/PDS, and MicroDrainage, along with an understanding of current local and national design guidance and standards
