Ready to revolutionize healthcare, making it faster and more accessible than ever before?
How we started:
Back in 2013, our founder Dwayne D'Souza saw an opportunity to give people faster and more convenient access to medications using technology. We've grown rapidly since our inception, without any external funding whatsoever – achieving profitability through innovation and a highly disciplined approach to growth.
Where we are now:
We've earned the trust of millions of people worldwide through our top-selling products and well-known brands: MedExpress, Dermatica, ZipHealth, RocketRX, and Levity. A lot of our success is down to having our own pharmacies, manufacturers and products – spearheaded by leading in-house medical teams, researchers and pharmacists. Our 2023 global revenue was $80m, and we're set to more than double this in 2024 as we look to surpass $200m and positively impact the daily lives of more people than ever before. There's never been a more exciting time to join HeliosX.
Where we're going:
Over the next five years, you'll support our goal to become a world-leading healthcare partner, deepening our customer relationships, expanding into new countries, and diversifying our product portfolio to treat more conditions. You'll be part of helping more people access prescription treatments and, most importantly, making personalised care better, quicker and easier for everyone.
Come be a part of making our dream of easier and faster healthcare a reality!
The Opportunity:
This is an exciting role for a General Practitioner to be involved in our UK digital health dermatology service.
You will provide clinical leadership to our team of pharmacist prescribers, ensuring the delivery of safe and effective care for UK patients.
This position requires knowledge and experience of managing common dermatological conditions especially acne and rosacea. Experience of managing other skin problems such as ageing, pigmentation and melasma would be advantageous.
You will also work closely with our pharmacy prescribing team, supporting their clinical queries and providing teaching and training to ensure a high quality, safe service.
As these roles are critical to our future growth and development of our clinical proposition, we're looking for GPs who can commit to 4+ days per week in this team. There will be a requirement to attend the office around once a fortnight.
You will use our asynchronous online platform to clinically evaluate patient consultations and if safe, prescribe medication or give advice in line with HeliosX protocols and guidance.
You will also work closely with our pharmacy prescribing team, supporting their clinical queries and providing teaching and training to ensure a high quality, safe service. We anticipate this will take approximately 30-50% of your time.
You will prioritise patient safety by ensuring our clinical practice and guidance is up-to-date and of the highest quality. You will work with the senior medical team to maintain a safe and effective service, whilst also improving the patient journey.
What you'll do:
* Hold regular drop-in sessions to support pharmacist prescribers with treatment decisions, ensuring compliance with set protocols and pathways.
* Discuss complex cases with the Condition Leads (i.e. Consultant Dermatologist).
* Prepare for MDTs and, following review by our Condition Leads, assist in the implementation of any outcomes/actions.
* Make recommendations to the Group Medical Lead on required protocol changes as a result of escalation discussions.
* Mentor pharmacist prescribers on effective complaints and incident management, including risk management and patient communication (phone-calls and email).
* Update pharmacy prescribers on internal and external guidance/protocol changes in weekly update meetings.
* Investigate escalations, complaints and incidents raised by the team and manage patient communication where appropriate. Liaise with pharmacy leads and ensure accurate reporting on JIRA.
* Support the Medical team to improve team training materials (e.g. updating our in-house curriculum) and documentation to support safe and effective care by the team.
* Review pharmacist prescriber emails and consultations and capture training requirements and recommended actions.
* Work closely with pharmacy prescribers, senior prescribers and team leads to ensure the provision of a high quality & safe prescribing service. This includes personally undertaking clinical audits of prescribers notes, clinical outcomes and other subjects as required.
* Deliver clinical feedback and coaching to pharmacist prescribers as required. Supporting performance reviews for high and low performing pharmacy prescribers.
* Clinically review and assess asynchronous patient consultations and if safe, prescribe medications in line with our protocols and guidance.
* Provide patient follow-up support via email, phone call or video consultation.
* Participate in monthly clinical governance meetings.
What you'll bring to HeliosX:
* Medical degree (MBBS or equivalent) with full GMC registration and licence to practice in the UK.
* Extensive experience in primary care dermatology.
* A postgraduate qualification in dermatology is desirable but not essential.
* Significant experience working in General Practice (>7 years), exposure to digital health or telemedicine advantageous.
* Strong coaching and training skills, ideally with experience of developing other HCPs, such as pharmacist prescribers.
* Highly efficient, evidence-based clinician.
