Job Description:
What you’ll do:
1. To act as a business partner to Accountants and Sales teams within the EMEA organisation
2. Support Accountants in their responsibilities by acting as delegate
3. Own critical department processes and deliver accurately, consistently in a timely manner
4. Uphold global Belkin policy with regard to customer programs activity and assist/support the business with compliance
5. Support in the accurate control and recording of customer program expense and accrued balances
6. Support in the maintenance of schedules of accrual balances that are reconciled to the Company’s liability to each customer
7. Support in the generation and publishing of monthly customer program reports as required
8. Support in review and settlement of complex claims activity and disputes from customers
9. Manage multiple stakeholders with courtesy and professionalism
10. Support in completion of Month end processes
11. Deal with ad hoc requests relating customer programs from the business
How you’ll do it:
1. Maintain a constructive on-going dialogue with Accountants and Sales regions
2. Ensure that automated accruals for customer programs are posted correctly in the accounts, consistent with contractual obligations
3. Actively highlight areas of concern with accrual balances and levels of spend
4. Monitoring of program invoices received against the relevant accrual; ensure that these are cross referenced to contracts and turnover to ensure validity of charges
5. Month end close – account reconciliations and posting of journals to Oracle, preparation of working papers to support balances
6. Identify that appropriate procedures have been followed in evaluating and authorising Program & Allowance spend before commitments are made with customers
7. Adhoc analysis to support requests from the business and on-going initiatives
What you’ll need:
1. Strong articulation skills and the ability to act with authority
2. Strong discipline and attention to detail
3. Collaborative attitude to maintaining a relationship with senior Accountants and Salespeople and supporting them in their business
4. Strong academic background
5. An understanding of accrual accounting and general accounting principles is preferable
What you’ve done:
1. Minimum of 2 years of experience in a Finance/Accounting department
2. Strong performance in Academic results to date
3. Understanding of basic accounting processes and principles is preferred
4. Exposure to Month end close is preferred – account reconciliations and posting of journals, preparation of working papers to support balances
5. Preferably worked in a role or environment where negotiation skills and internal customer service is essential
6. Intermediate Excel Skills
