Me time on tap.
Or family time if you need it.
When the money and job is just as good if not better, but you’re nearer to home what would you do with the extra hours?
Especially when you can work from home two days a week too.
Extra especially if you save money on the commute or with the free onsite parking.
If you’re also a career minded person, you don’t need to sacrifice there either. You’d effectively be the Lead Technician if you worked here, and with a little bit of time, and a little bit of growth you’d be the Technical manager with a team of three.
You might need to talk to client advisors and other consultants sometimes, but it’s not a Project Lead job. Just the nuts and bolts. A proper Technician job where you guide the people and projects Technically and focus on the drawing side. Ideal if that’s your comfort zone.
There’s enough variety too so it won’t be dull.
Affordable Housing, Student Resi, Commercial, Adaptive Reuse… there’s a different project type every time.
You’d work in a very different sort of Architectural practice.
It’s a successful one for a start. Untypically it has a strong development arm, and goes through regular periods of planned growth. They’ve never made a redundancy and there are times where you’ll basically be the client. So as well as bit different, your job will be as safe as the houses you build…
You don’t need experience in any particular sector to apply.
What you’ll be doing
* Working in Revit to draw up a range of large complex building types and larger housing schemes.
* These will range from masterplans to detailed design and construction drawings.
* You’ll focus on stages 3 - 6. They’ll need to rely on you for that, there’s nobody here to check your drawings after all.
* Checking drawings and technical information would be your job.
* Build and develop a technical team. (You’re the first one on the team)
What you need
* Experience as an Architectural Technician / Technologist.
* Knowledge of either larger housing schemes or any kind of large complex building types (basically not just extensions).
* Know how Revit works.
* You don’t need to be client facing too often, but you’ll be used to communicating and coordinating with other AEC consultants and contractors.
