An exciting new position is available for a motivated enthusiastics and skilled Skin Cancer CNS to join the Dermatology Team, on a 12 month fixed- term contract, to pilot a new service initiative.
The service has seen a rapid growth in skin cancer referrals, and we are keen to develop nurse led initiatives. The successful applicant will take over the screening of teledermatology 2 week-wait referrals as well as perform standard Dermatology skin cancer CNS duties.
The post holder will collaborate closely with the Skin Cancer Lead, ensuring individual patients are triaged accordingly. The aim of this initiative is to further develop the teledermatology service, in order to provide a high-quality service enablling skin cancer patients to receiving treatment, in the most time efficient manner possible.
This post has been created to pilot a nurse led teledermatology service for patient’s referred to Whipps Cross Hospital via the two- week wait skin cancer pathway. The post holder willcollaborate closely with the Skin Cancer Lead ensuring individual patients are triaged accordingly, to promote a seamless, high-quality service in line with national advancements in skin cancer patient pathways. As a member of the clinical nurse specialist team the postholder will undertake minor surgery sessions, outpatient clinics, and telephone clinics for patients diagnosed or suspected to have skin cancer. We expect advanced clinical expertise and knowledge that will be pivotal in driving service development through nurse led initiatives.

Please note: When calculating the basic salary for sponsorship, HCAS (High CostArea Supplement) is not included for non-medical roles. This ensures fairness and consistency within ourorganisation, as some of our sites fall under inner HCAS, while others are classified as outer HCAS.
Although this position is a 12 months fixed-term contract, the actual contract duration will be adjusted to account for the time taken to advertise the post, complete the hiring process, and finalise pre-employment checks. This means the contract will begin when the candidate starts the role and may beslightlyshorter than 12 months.
