Position: Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA) Location: Exeter Start Date: September Long-term Teachers are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA). We are supporting a Secondary School based in Exeter to join their team in providing high-quality education and support to students. This position is an excellent opportunity for individuals passionate about making a difference in the lives of young people. Key Responsibilities: Assist teachers in the planning and delivery of engaging and effective lessons. Support individual and small groups of students to enhance their learning experience. Cover classes and deliver pre-planned lessons in the absence of the teacher. Work collaboratively with teaching staff to develop and implement individualised learning plans. Provide feedback to students and help track their academic progress. Assist in managing classroom behaviour and creating a positive learning environment. Participate in staff meetings, training sessions, and continuous professional development opportunities. Contribute to the overall ethos and values of the school. Qualifications and Experience: HLTA status or equivalent qualification. Experience working in a secondary school setting. Strong knowledge of the secondary school curriculum KS3-KS4. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to work independently and as part of a team. A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children. Desirable: Previous experience in a similar role. Experience working with students with special educational needs (SEN).
