The opportunity has arisen for a forward-thinking manager to lead and manage our small, friendly team of highly skilled nurses for a period of maternity cover. On C6 we care for haematology and oncology patients with a variety of malignant and non-malignant conditions, as well as a variety of medical patients. We are also known within the trust for delivering excellent palliative and end of life care. The successful candidate will be expected to undertake training to administer systemic anti-cancer therapy (SACT) to our group of patients with malignant haematological conditions. You will also work closely with the Matron and Day Unit Manager to ensure seamless care for this patient group. Main duties of the job
The expectations within this job description will be met through professional leadership, clinical management, hands on clinical practice, education and training, and research.
The post holder will ensure that high quality nursing care is delivered within their designated clinical area.
The post holder will assist in setting the standards of clinical practice, in conjunction with the multidisciplinary team, and will monitor patient outcomes.
The post holder will have ongoing responsibility for the operational effectiveness of their designated clinical area, being present in their clinical area, in conjunction with the Clinical Matron
