What to Expect
Join the Engines and Transmissions function of JLR, where innovation meets excellence in Powertrain Engineering. You will play a vital leadership role in the development and application of cutting-edge engine and transmission systems, along with advancing fuel cell technology for the entire JLR Group.
Key Accountabilities and Responsibilities
You will focus on quality management related to engineering changes for current car engine and transmission projects, ensuring that future updates and quality improvements make a swift impact in the market. This is also an opportunity to lead a dedicated team focused on complex commodities and oversee engineering support for aftermarket projects, providing technical input for component and engine assembly.
1. Linking quality improvement projects to component changes and guiding your team from component design to part release.
2. Ensuring every design meets the highest standards.
3. Focusing on minimizing the time required for implementing Quality Permanent Corrective Actions and driving the throughput of releases.
4. Aligning validation processes with the Validation Team and managing supplier SREA’s, addressing engineering actions.
5. Supporting the engine plant PVT and OTG processes to improve operational efficiency.

What You’ll Need
* Experience in engine, transmission, and component design and validation in the automotive industry.
* Experience across the full product lifecycle, from concept to production, especially within Powertrain covering hardware, calibration, and control systems.
* A degree or equivalent with the ability to communicate technical information to non-technical senior leaders.
* The ability to influence, persuade, and resolve technical issues.
* Proven leadership experience in improving ways of working.
