Your role and responsibilities
We are offering a one-year Oncology Internship position to vets who have completed a rotating internship and wish to advance their clinical training in Oncology. You will work within our oncology department, which consists of a Diplomate and an Oncology nurse. Our oncology team works closely with the medicine team to ensure the best care for animals under their care. The Oncology intern is involved in the day-to-day running of the oncology service, including assessment of patients, responding to client queries, administering chemotherapy, and working with the clinician to ensure excellent communication between the nursing and veterinary teams.
You will have completed a rotating internship, have great people skills, love to work within a team, and have a passion for all things oncology! Paragon is a small, supportive, and friendly team, and as a proactive member, we aim to provide a service of the highest possible standards in a busy, stimulating, and supportive environment.
You will benefit from both a busy and dynamic clinical environment and formal training. Interns will participate in hospital rounds, journal and book clubs, and you are encouraged to complete a small research project or audit. Weekend cover is based on a shared rota with other clinicians, assuring a healthy work-life balance.
The successful candidate will be an MRCVS and have worked in small animal practice within the UK.
