Professional Indemnity Lawyer
Application Deadline: 31 January 2025
Department: Legal
Employment Type: Permanent - Full Time
Location: Liverpool
Description
Our professional indemnity team in Liverpool are looking to recruit a Lawyer to work with the Partners predominantly but not exclusively on construction focussed disputes but also across the broader range of professional indemnity claims and with the opportunity to develop a specialism defending veterinary surgeons both on civil claims and in disciplinary claims before their professional body.
The professional indemnity team is instructed by professionals, usually through their insurers. The role will cover claims through the pre-action protocols to ADR and mediation, adjudication and through to litigation or arbitration.
The role will involve the successful candidate working with the partners on high value complex work, with claims sums often being for multi-million pounds, handling those claims on a day to day basis and also handling their own caseload of matters with support and supervision. The team has an excellent reputation and is highly regarded by its clients.
There will be a high level of client interaction both with the professionals and their insurers. The role requires both technical and communication skills. We are looking for a candidate ideally with some knowledge/experience of professional indemnity and/or construction combined with a litigation background. The team is extremely busy at the moment with an increasing number of instructions and clients. The team is highly ranked in both Chambers and Legal 500 for its expertise in acting on behalf of a wide range of professionals. It has been described as having “excellent specialist knowledge of this market and an in-depth understanding of the construction industry and the commercial realities of their clients’ business.”
There are excellent opportunities for progression and this role represents an exciting opportunity.
