Job overview
Applications are invited for an enthusiastic and well-motivated orthoptist to join our friendly orthoptic department. We are a team of 4 orthoptists, supporting 10 ophthalmologists, which include 2 paediatric consultants, across three different sites. The orthoptic department provides a comprehensive range of adult and paediatric services, primary and secondary vision screening, and working within special needs schools. The post will involve working within a team and also some single-handed sessions. Although based at East Surrey Hospital, you will be required to cover clinics at the other sites within the trust; therefore, a car driver is desirable. Full preceptorship training will be given, with the possibility of progression to a Band 6 after completion of the preceptorship year.
Applicants must have a degree or diploma in orthoptics and be state registered with HCP.
