Duties and responsibilities
To promote, develop, and lead a research-positive environment that supports high-quality research by supporting research leaders. This includes encouraging, initiating, and building collaborative relationships with partners to develop research programmes.
To act as the first point of contact for all grant-related and commercial enquiries.
To support R&D within the Trust by providing advice and financial information to researchers and the Finance Department, under the guidance of the R&D Senior Management Team.
To assist the Director and Associate Director in the smooth operational management of R&D, including providing excellent administrative support throughout the department.
To coordinate business activities for R&D in line with internal and external cycles, ensuring timely and comprehensive monthly performance reporting.
To undertake other specified project work as required.

Qualifications
Essential criteria
* Educated to NVQ level 7/Degree level qualification or equivalent experience.
Experience
Essential criteria
* Significant experience in a similar role, preferably within the NHS or universities sector.
Operational management experience
Essential criteria
* Experience in project, financial, and line management.
Skills
Essential criteria
* Ability to analyze and interpret complex, confidential research management information.
IT literacy
Essential criteria
* Excellent IT skills, especially in MS Office applications including Excel, Word, email, and internet use.
Personal qualities

* Highly self-motivated with the ability to work independently.
